REVIEW:

This is my first book by author M. Jay Granberry as well as first introduction to the Sin City Tales. This was an emotional rollercoaster, a forbidden romance with age gap, family issues and two people who just connect but were not prepared for what is brought them.

Daniel pretty much won me over, my heart broke for this carefree fun loving man who deeply loved his family, especially his touchstone, his grandmother. His grandmother is ill and slowly fading, he feels like he's let his family down in a way as well as his grandmother. Seeing her not knowing who he is breaks a piece of him. Every scene with his family and with his grandmother just turned me into an emotional wreck. Granberry knows how to kick up emotional connection with her character and hit all the feels. Jessica has family issues too, coming from a wealthy family, her brother dating Daniel's lead signer in the band, as well as the age gap, these two had a lot against them in a way. She is sweet and gets Daniel, sees the true him. Its more of a slow burn and sneaking around, but when these two are together its fire.

Overall the romance is off the charts, the family story for Daniel was the strength and the bands connection and support is what pulled this story along. I may have wished I read the other stories prior, especially Sins and Jakes story. I just have to note, Jake is like all alpha hulk sexy and I'm so going to have to read about him and Sin. I was a little lost at times and had to go back and see if I missed something, pieces of the plot got left behind and I didn't get a resolution to some. But it didn't diminish the point of the story, Daniel and Jessica, how these two were brought together and helped each other in ways they didn't know they needed.

REVIEW:

I was an absolute mess reading this book and loved every minute of it! Prince is a new author to me and I randomly came across this book in my kindle unlimited recommendations and boy was I a happy reader.

Ladies and Gents gird your loins while reading this book because its one hell of a roller coaster of emotional romance and rock star heaven. This is the first book in the Civil Corruption series, there is going to be four total as there are four band members to get addicted too, and they are sexy as *bleep*.

Anyways this story follows the sweetly heartbroken Gwen, she has been hit with one blow after another, losing both her parents and trying to start fresh in a new city with her bestie. She takes a chance at a party that is supposedly hosted by a popular band. But feeling way out of her comfort zone, she leave the chaos of party to go to a quite part of the house, where she runs into Garrett. Unknown to her, he's the drummer for the band whose throwing the party. They have a connection, they talk and bond through the night. But its not the same the next morning when reality hits and Gwen is face with the *real* Garrett. But life takes a crazy turn when she finds out after their night together she has another shocker to add to her list.

There is a lot of ups and downs for Gwen and Garrett, they may have a connection but Gwen has seen a side of Garrett that she is determined to have nothing to do with. And frankly I didn't blame her one bit. I would do exactly what she did in her position. Gwen is very headstrong and independent, she is loyal, passionate and has such a good heart for her friends and family. I hurt for her when she was hurting and wanted her to find happiness for her and Liddy.

Garrett is a jerk and as the reader you will not like him for a lot of reason, redemption is key for him and he has a lot to make up for. But he is surrounded by so many negative things, the life of a celebrity is anything but happy, there are drugs, groupies, corrupt media and people who supposedly are suppose to help you, and don't. So I was sometimes on his side but mostly 80% on Gwen side of things.

In the end I loved this story because neither of these characters are perfect, they are both trying to do their best and sometimes they fail without trying too. The secondary characters are freaking perfect, I loved Gwen's bestie and Garrett's bodyguard, they added a great amount of cuteness and humor. Then there are the other members of the band, they are all extremely flawed and a hot mess, so I can't wait to see where their stories take them.

REVIEW:

I’m a fan of the bad boys, it’s those dark, moody and mysterious guys that have such an interesting story.  Even though I hadn’t read the first in the backstage series, I was easily able to grasp the world of the band boy life and how each guy is struggling with many different personal issues.

Mia and the Bad Boy follows, Ryder Brooks who the “bad boy” of the band Seconds to Juliet. However its not his ideal life, he gets to be around his love of music. But he eventually wants more, he needs to get his GED in order to attend the music college of his dreams. Now this bad boy gets a tutor but it needs to stay secret not only for his image but because being a celebrity he has many secrets. Mia is not prepared to be the tutor of Ryder especially since his persona is not so nice, but Mia is the only one who can help him. Together they need to get along to reach their goals but aren’t prepared for the blooming connection that they have the longer their together.

Ryder is a complex guy; young and talented in writing music, he hopes to one day take his career in another direction. But he needs and education and wants to go to music school. Luckily his manager gets him a secret tutor, not so lucky she is forced to pretend to be his girlfriend so not to ruin his image and make him seem uneducated.  I loved this concept, Ryder is hard to get along with, and I mean everyone has a hard time including his band mates. So it was nice to see Mia, his new tutor gives him a piece of his own medicine but also be kind enough to understand his feelings. Ryder has an interesting past with his family, it effects him greatly and also pushes him to move forward and be better. I liked that he had goals set for himself and how much Mia pushed him to do better and be better.

Mia is a smart and sweet girl, who has done everything in life to make her parents happy. She is hoping to get accepted to UCLA for medical school, because its what her parents want. When she meets Ryder she is taken back by his demeanor but she slowly sees the better person he is and how much music means to him. He also opens her up to expressing herself and her true talents. I loved how they both pushed eat other to become the person that they wanted to be, not what others wanted them to be,

Overall this was a sweet romance between two talented people. They were both misunderstood by their parents who were blind to their children’s talents and didn’t love them for them.  I wished we knew more about the families since it seemed to focus hugely on what they thought of their children; this also made their decisions in life change. In the end I enjoyed seem the band members interact, they are so different and hilarious get along and don’t get along. But it was nice to see how they dealt with their rise in fame. I also was hoping for more drama and more clashes then there were, but its sweetness won over. I look forward to continuing the series and seeing how each member finds their happiness.
