REVIEW:

The Wrong Wife is my first introduction to L. Steele and it was a great one. I love to fullness of the side characters, it really pulled me into the world along with the main characters Knight and Penny, they supported the story and introduced me to the past characters without confusing me. Of course now I need to read the past books because I have to see how these other couples were brought together.

The Wrong Wife follows Penny who has an awkward encounter with her best friend Abby's brother Knight, who has just returned from being held captive after a mission gone bad with the military. Knight has come back changed, haunted by the loss of his team and being tortured. He's hardened and angry, Abby is determined to help her brother and get him back to the living. She thinks Penny, who is bright and bubbly with help knock Knight back into the world and to his family and friends. Penny nor Knight are prepared for each other, both so opposite but their attraction is fire. Together they go through ups and downs, challenging each other in things they both didn't know they needed or wanted.

Overall I liked this story, at the beginning Penny is a little much, but she calms down a little and is less annoying. She matures and also brings out the best in Knight. The romance is as I said fire, the chemistry burns on the pages and the dirty talk is fan worthy. I look forward to reading the past books and also more future writing from L. Steel, she knows romance and knows how to bring a lot fo characters together without being overwhelming.

 REVIEW

This is the first in the Primal Mates series but its apart of the main series Interstellar Brides. I was excited for this one because Helion has been an important figure through out the series and side series. I was curious on how this character was going to handle being matched and having a mate.

Heartless follows Willow who was rescued from a Hive ship and went through hell, she has finally put herself together in a way and has also been chosen as a bride being mated to Commander Helion. However Helion though good looking, powerful and intelligent, he has a one track mind and its to destroy the Hive at all cost. Both have a deep drive for something Willow to create a new live and get away from what happened to her and Helion wants to stop the Hive.

Overall I liked this story, I would say this was a 3.5/3.7 stars for me. I always love the connection between matched mates and their journey into figuring things out. There is always miscommunication, however I didn't really like how Willow handled things on her end as she blamed Helion and didn't bother to ask nor did she share. But he got the blunt end of things. Since normally there are two mates the Primary and his second, Helion not having a second caused issues too. I don't think that Willow handled that well and was a little peeved with her actions. The romance side as always is on fire, its intense and I always like how to couple balance each other out. This series is always just getting started so I cant wait to see who is next in Primal Mates.

In the end there is a lot of action scenes and I loved seeing the past couples pop in to see how they are all doing. The Hive is still insanely scary and I'm looking forward to seeing how they can be stopped.

REVIEW

Samantha Young is one of my go to authors for romance, she always find a way to make the readers feel so connected to the characters and invested in their romance.

A Cosmic Kind of Love follow Hallie, a pink haired sweet, people pleasing event coordinator, who comes across a video diary of a clients ex while planning an event. She immediately connects with this man, Christopher Ortiz, a well known astronaut who she feels is a kindred spirit. Funny enough she decides to email him of accidently coming across the videos but it bounces back, causing her to send her own video diaries knowing hell never see them, or will he?

I loved the development of how Hallie and Christopher meet, they are both trying to find themselves still. Hallie trying to get out from under her parents drama and be her best self, while Christopher is trying to figure out his next step for his career while his controlling father pushes him. They may be so different in where they are but both had such a beautiful connection and just got each other when know one else in their lives did. There are a lot of bumps in the road that challenge their friendship and their blooming romance.

Overall I loved it, it was a sweet story with lots of emotion and a beautifully crafted romance. Splashes of humor, great side characters made for a great story and another favorite of Samantha Young's.

REVIEW

I adore this series, each story brings together two people you wouldn't think would be a good match and makes the reader root for each fantastic couple. This time around the focus is on Larke, sister of Kerrigan from book 3, who is a hard working single mom that is taken for a whirlwind, when a student decides to sue her over a grade. The one helping the student is newcomer Ronan Thatcher, whose trying to fit into this small town and meets a student whom he knows there is more to her story. Plus the teacher whom he can't stop thinking about, even after many rejections.

Nash does a fantastic job with the emotional side to her stories, in such a small town, everyone knows everyone and everything that's going on. The town and people itself are their own side characters. The romance is always hot, the connection and steam that comes in every meeting between Ronan and Larke is fire. Many past characters are back but also some great and well written new ones.

In the end I can't wait for the next one following Wilder Abbot who is a fellow teacher of Larkes and the most broody man around, but his history is heartbreaking so I don't blame the broodiness.

Whiskey Home is a wonderfully created suspense romance. well thought out characters and a great start to the Whiskey Falls series.

Whiskey Home follows Bree who goes home to Whiskey Falls after the tragic loss of her biological father. When she gets home its obviously the last place she wants to be but heartbroken with the loss of her father, especially with the unresolved issues they had. Her family dynamic is heartbreaking, her family had a fallout with her and they never seem to let her forget it. Thankfully she has the love of her brother, his friends and her pseudo father Griff. But when she gets home she discovers that her step father death is looking more like murder and they are not stopping with him, she and her family have become target and now Griff and her brothers best friend Tony are on a mission to find out who is behind it all.

Bree is a complicated character, she is hurt and still doesn't feel that connection to her family because of past issues with her father, Her relationship with her fathers friend Griff who took her in is as solid as every, her brother Erick has her back and the man who makes her heart skip a beat Tony is trying to make sure Bree is not only safe but stays home where they all feel she belongs. Tony and Bree's chemistry is off the charts, they have history and Tony like everyone wants her back in Whiskey Falls.

They mystery is fantastically written, I didn't have a clue for the longest time who was behind it and that goes the show the author did a wonderful job with the big beds. I was on the edge of my seat many times and I loved all the secondary characters. I'm pretty excited to see what's in store for the next installment.

The patio door opens behind me, alerting me to Bree’s presence.
“Bree’s here. I gotta go,” I tell him.
“Watch your back,” he warns, not hiding the worry in his voice.
“You, too.” I hang up and turn around to find Bree rubbing the back of her neck with a resigned look on her face.
“She’s on her way, isn’t she?” I ask.
She winces and nods.
“Please tell me Colt’s with her.” I like Colt, and it’s obvious he cares for both women. Plus, he can handle himself and is one hell of a shot.
“No. Colt’s not with her. But she’s not alone.”
“You need to call her back and tell her to turn around. We barely have enough manpower to cover you, much less Sadie and whichever one of your friends she’s dragging with her.”
“It’s, um, well, it’s Killian,” she stammers. “He didn’t want her driving by herself.”
It takes a few seconds before I trust myself to speak. “Are you telling me Killian Cross is on his way here right now?”
She bites her lip and nods reluctantly.
“Exactly how many times has Cross asked you out?” I ask.
She wrings her hands together. “Twice. And it’s been months. We’re just good friends, not that it’s any of your business.”
I see red. “Not my fucking business? Are you high? Everything about you is my business.”
She backs up but it’s too late. In two steps I’m on her. I pull her to me and slam my mouth down on hers.
Instead of fighting it, her arms wrap around me. I fist her hair, and she gasps, giving me what I need to slide my tongue home. I bring her even closer, and she melts into me.
I pour everything I have into the kiss. If she won’t believe it when I tell her she’s mine, I’ll fucking show her and leave no room for doubt.
I’ve been waiting for this moment for two years, and all my frustration comes through. She moans into my mouth which spurs me on. I thought our first kiss couldn’t be beat, but this one blows it out of the water.
This kiss is everything. Heaven and hell, want and need, every ounce of my being focused on the slide of her tongue. I slow it down until our lips separate. I run my nose along hers then drop my hand down to her lower back and bury my face in her hair.
“This is why you’re my business. This proves you want me as much as I want you. Face it. You’re mine, and I’m fucking yours. Always have been. Always will be.”
I lean in and kiss the side of her lips. “Give us a chance, beautiful. It’s going to work out. I promise.”
Her entire face softens, and I think I have her. But then she blinks, and I see naked fear flash in her eyes right before she shuts down.
Fucking hell.

“Do you mind?” Leo pulled a cheroot out of his pocket without waiting for a response. He flicked his wrist, lighting the end. The fragrant smoke spiraled up into the air above their heads, disappearing into the night. They sat in companionable silence for some time, with only the sound of the fountain. “May I?” she said, holding out her hand for the cheroot. He gave her an odd look but handed it over, the brush of his fingers against hers sending a tingle down her arm. Georgina hadn’t indulged in a cheroot since coming to London and before, she’d only done so to shock whatever gentleman had produced it from his pocket. Ben, ever complicit in her bad behavior, had taught her one day when she was fifteen. Maybe sixteen. It became a small bit of rebellion to steal cheroots from her father’s study. She took a short puff, blowing out a series of perfect smoke rings. A sound came from Leo, sifting beneath her skirts like a wisp of the cheroot smoke, winding its way up her silken clad legs, identical to the sound he’d made when his head had been between her thighs. “Quite a trick.” Taking the cheroot from her, he drew in the smoke then leaned over and caught his mouth against hers, blowing the smoke gently between her lips before breaking away. Georgina immediately formed her mouth into an ‘O’ and blew another perfect ring of smoke into the night air. She turned with a wiggle of her brows to find his gaze fixed on her. “I have many talents.” Tossing the cheroot, he ground it beneath his heel and reached for her before Georgina had a chance to move away. REVIEW:

This was my first read for author Laramie Briscoe, this was a great quick read with a lot of colorful characters that I know will be more developed in future books and some great romances. This story focused on Danny the "Rookie" of the local small town fire station and Hayden the fire chiefs daughter whose come back home.

Danny is a hard working guy, not only trying his best as a rookie at the fire station but helping his father in his landscaping business. He never seems to have a breather and would do anything for his family. He also has ties to the Mayor whom shuns him and his family even though they are family. But he meets Hayden whom he helps on the side of the road and its an instant spark.

Hayden has come back home after taking a job back in her hometown after college. When she meets Danny she feels something instant with him, however her fathers rules of not allowing his guys at the station to date his daughters lingers in the back of her head. So should Danny and Hayden take the risk?

Overall the is a quick read, very low angst and some small suspense. For me the side characters, like Hayden's friend and Danny's fellow firefighter kind of stole the show. I wanted to know more about them all and the future books. Danny and Hayden needed a little more development and time, I wanted to know more about Danny's mothers family. One bit that bothered me was Danny's past lover seemed like an important character or element and then never touched on. I wanted to see Hayden grow more now that she's home. Their secret romance was hot and their connection fire, but they didn't want to hurt the most important person which was Hayden's father and chief. I loved the respect they both had for Hayden's father. In the end I looked forward to the next book and more from Briscoe.
