Where oh where has this author been and why was she not on my top historical read list? This is my first read for author Maddison Michaels and not my last, I'm ashamed to say I had not read a book by her, but I will be reading more now! This was a wonderful start to a new series, lots of suspense, steamy moments, complex characters and tons of humor.The Bachelor Bargain follow Lady Olivia and her two friends, they just lost one of the closest friends and they want to punish whoever did this to her. They believe she was murdered, and that one of the many Bachelors in society that go around and break many hearts is responsible. They come up with a plan to out all these men, but they need help and Lady Olivia goes to one of the most dangerous men in society the Bastard of Baker Street Sebastian Colver. He too hates the society of rich and superior, but is taken back by this bold woman and together they face the dangers of finding the murder and staying alive.
Lady Olivia is my sole sister, she was a tough as nails lady, injured at a young age and having to use a cane, never slows her down. She is determined and always puts others first. Her courage was admirable, even though she constantly put herself in danger to get answers. She had no fear even going face to face with Sebastian who has a lot of blood on his hands. Together they became the perfect pair to take down the big bads. Sebastian is ruthless, he grew up defending himself on the streets and became successful and feared for it. But this big powerful man doesn't know what to do with this small spitfire of a woman.
Overall I loved this story and this introduction to a series, I was laughing, swooning and holding my breath with each and every chapter. Michael's is a master at her craft, her writing is beautiful done and her characters are captivating and memorable. I can't wait to see who the next installment follows because both Lady Olivia's friends are given some great highlights that I know the readers are going to be in for a thrill.
