REVIEW:
This story is K. Bromberg’s Everyday Hero world, this was my first go not only for this series but for author Michelle Fernandez. This is a steamy, friends to lovers romance that can be read as a stand alone. Characters from the past books are noted but it did not confuse me, just got me more intrigued about their stories.Distracted follows Sabrina and Spencer, best friends since they were children and who had each others back, even when their games of dares got more intense as they grew up. But after a loss on Sabrina's side brought them together even more, however Spencer doesn't tell Sabrina he is in a relationship, which breaks her heart and she break ties with him. After years apart they are brought together by another tragedy, however this time Spencer is not going to let Sabrina go, especially after he discovers a secret that Sabrina's been holding on to for over 6 years. Sabrina mistakes and her anger I felt was a little over the top, her reasoning for not telling anyone about her secret especially Spencer made me shake my head. Sabrina character was a bit tough for me to connect to compared to Spencer whom, even though he was alpha male, he was so sweet, loving and such a good guy that behind the broken side he just wanted his missing piece which was Sabrina.
Overall I loved the back and forth with getting a peak into Sabrina and Spencer's childhood. The dares that these two did as kid was my favorite parts, it cracked me up to see how far they would go. I loved their bond and their growing fondness for each other from best friends to getting those butterflies in your stomach every time their near each other. They both made mistakes, which ultimate cost them so much time but their bond when near each other after so much time is still there. Michelle does a fantastic job showing the depth of love these two have, its intense, passionate and holy moly hot.
The side characters are wonderful additions, to Spencer's sister who I think will be getting a future story, to Sabrina's adorable daughter who is a page stealer. In the end if you like drama, steamy sexy romance, and some suspense, check out Distracted.
