REVIEW:
I've been looking for a good Mafia story for some time and stumbled on this one along with a new to me author. I was not disappointed, it had everything I enjoy about mafia stories, it was dark, ruthless, the world the characters lived in was harsh and uncaring, I was constantly wondering who was going to survive, and the romance was sexy, passionate and dominating.Merciless Saints follows Winter, she is the heir to her fathers criminal syndicate, the diamond territory. Her family always has a target on their heads. But when her mothers live is taken, she and her family go into hiding, but revenge is all that is on Winters mind. Once she is older and ready she attends St. Monarch's Academy where the criminals words children go, where they are they to learn how to be ruthless, where they can use their peers to take out their enemies. Winter wants to be around the best and become the deadly weapon her family needs so she can protect them. That is of course until she comes face to face with the legendary Vetrov family, Damien the next in line to his families legacy and deadly weapon. Let the competition began.
This story was a wonderfully crafted story, that didn't hold back in the reality that this world is dangerous that the characters were never safe until they took out who needed to be gone. I was constantly worried for the leads, I never knew who was going to be around the next corner. Winter is the ultimate tough as nails lead, she would do anything for her family, she in the end is the strongest and refused to be weak. She is ultimately a queen. I rooted for her to get her revenge and rooted for her to also find some type of happiness in this dark world. Damien was a happy surprise for me, unpredictable, dangerous and I wasn't sure what his end result was going to be. Let just say every scene Winter and Damien were in together the pages were on fire, whether it be from passion or from trying to one up each other.
In the end this was a great start to a new series as well as a great find in a new to me author. The only bit I wished more for is the other crime families background, a little more into Winters biggest enemy and why they were who they were. I look forward to continuing this series and can't wait to see who is next!
