BLURB:

Londyn McCormack didn’t have a typical childhood. She ran away from home at sixteen, escaping parents more interested in drugs than their daughter. She doesn’t have loving siblings or an adorable pet. Her only family is the five other runaway kids who shared her junkyard home.

Life pulled them all in separate directions, taking her to Boston. For a short time, she thought she’d found something permanent. But after a devastating divorce, she’s running away again, this time to find a lost friend.
She’s driving across the country in her convertible. As a teenager, the rusty car was her shelter. As an adult, it’s her ride to freedom.

Except one flat tire derails her trip. Her life collides with Brooks Cohen. They walked away from the first crash. The second might destroy them both.

REVIEW:

Devney Perry is one of my top five go to authors, she is a master at writing romances and I love that her stories are in based in small towns. Runaway Road is the first in her new Runaway series and the romance and connection that I always love in Perry's books is all there.

Runaway Road follows Londyn (love her name), who is set on taking a leap of faith and traveling to meet up with her past friend. Londyn's life turned upside down when she discovered her husband was cheating on her, so she wants to leave her life, her phone, and everything connecting to her husband behind. But her trip is cut short when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. She meets Brooks Cohen, who owns a nearby small town mechanic shop. There is instant connection, but Londyn is just passing through, until random acts of sabotage on her beloved car keeps her in this new small town a lot longer.

I really enjoyed Londyn's growth through the book, her husband did a number on her and coming from a past of loneliness and running away when she was young, she molded herself to what her husband wanted. Now she is free and wants to find that connection to her past, but this small town and the people that live there start burrowing into her heart.

I adore small town stories, I loved all the secondary characters, the funny old ladies who like to nosey their way into your personal life and the bff who has your back no matter what. Plus the connection with Lodyn and Brooks is smoking hot right from the get go. The couple has a lot of bumps in the road and with Londyn leaving soon, Brooks has his heart on the line.

Overall this was a great story, sweet and sexy romance and character who captured my heart. Perry always has a bit of suspense in her stories, this one isn't as intense as her other stories, it was definitely a lot lighter. Nonetheless I still enjoyed the journey and I cant wait for Gemma's story because with her past similar to Londyn's and her empire she grew, I'm excited to see where her life takes her.
