Hooking up is only the beginning of the fun in this sexy and irresistible second installment of the thrilling New Adult series, Boomerang.
Adam Blackwood has it all. At twenty-two, he’s fabulously wealthy, Ryan Gosling-hot and at the top of the heap in the business world. His life is perfect, until a scandal from his past resurfaces and knocks the tech wunderkind down, throwing his company, Boomerang, a hook-up site for millennials, into chaos.
Three years ago, Adam married his high school love—and then lost her in a tragic accident. Now, the heartbreak and guilt he’s tried to bury with work and women begins to take over his life.
Alison Quick, the twenty-one-year-old daughter of a business tycoon—and the very ex-girlfriend of Boomerang’s former intern, Ethan—has a problem of her own. She’s got one chance to prove to her father that she deserves a place in his empire by grabbing control of Boomerang and taking Adam down.
But as Alison moves in on him, armed with a cadre of lawyers and accountants, she discovers there’s much more to Adam and Boomerang than meets the eye. Will earning her father’s approval come at the price of losing her first real love? It appears so, unless Adam can forgive her for wrecking his life and trying to steal his livelihood. But Alison hopes that old adage is right. Maybe love can conquer all.

REVIEW:
Rebound is the second in the Boomerang series, I hadn’t read the first book Boomerang so I had a fresh introduction to all the characters and Augusts’ writing. I really enjoyed the softer take that this author took in New Adult, usually its focused on lust, but the romance built really well and realistically. I’ll definitely read the first book now that I’m familiar with the couple and the back-story of the main characters.Rebound follows Alison Quick who is a recent graduate and daughter to business tycoon Graham Quick. She takes on her first job representing her fathers company by seeing if the Adam CEO of Boomerang, the successful dating site, is worth investing in. After a steamy met up at a Halloween party, Alison and Adam have an intense connection. But with Alison trying to please her father and Adam needing the investment will these two grow their connection or let work come between them.
Alison is a smart girl but has done some mistakes in her past. When we first meet her in Rebound she is attending a party where she sees her ex that she hurt happy with his new girlfriend. Even though I didn’t know everything that happened with Alison and her ex, I felt a lot of remorse coming from her point of view. She really is a sweet girl who grows a lot, becoming very independent by fighting for what she believes in. Her father definitely does challenge her since she’s supposed to investigate all the bad on Adam. I loved the first introduction to Alison and Adam, both masked as Catwoman and Zorro, they let themselves go with their connection and the mystery of not knowing who each other are. It was an immediate attraction and I loved the shock of Adam finding out who Alison was.
Adam is very young to be a successful CEO, but he’s also a broken character who has a sad past. Since I didn’t read the first book I didn’t know a lot about him so he was a bit of a mystery to me. Since a tragic accident in his past, he’s become very closed off making it hard for him to connect with anyone. Meaning he put everything into his company but not in his personal life. I found his character so sweet and after finding out what happened to him I wanted some happiness for him.
Overall this was a sweet and endearing story with a lot of emotional growing up for both leads. I didn’t connect to each character as much as I would have liked, at such a young age for them to be so extremely successful it was hard to put myself in their shoes. But we do live in an age of technology and the CEOs are getting younger and younger. There were some points that were a bit slow for me, but overall there were great swoon moments just not the impact I was hoping for. I did however love the ending however, Alison father made me so angry and I was hoping for Alison to do something drastic. It made me like her just a bit more for what happens “Go Alison!” In the end this was a great chick lit that has just enough humor, romance and huggable moments to keep me hooked, I look forward to continuing the series and seeing more from the boomerang crew.

Excerpt #1, Alison POV
I give myself to the music and the movement of my body, but over and over again, I’m drawn back to him. And every time, his eyes are on me. Every time, he greets me with that same devastating grin that cuts right to my core.
Finally, I can’t take it anymore. I give in and dance his way, running my mink tail through my fingers. I smile at him, feeling light and relaxed and like no one in the world would dare deny me a thing.
Finally, I can’t take it anymore. I give in and dance his way, running my mink tail through my fingers. I smile at him, feeling light and relaxed and like no one in the world would dare deny me a thing.
“Dance with me,” I say.
“Is that a question?” he asks, folding his arms across his chest. His biceps bulge beneath the flowing black fabric of his shirt, and his eyes, which seem to be a deep, penetrating gray, regard me in amusement.
“No,” I reply, still swaying as the music flows through me to wrap around us both. “Come on.”
He hesitates, and the moment stretches between us. What is he waiting for? Doesn’t he understand how much I need to dance with him right now?
Coming up close to him, I feel the pull of his body, like gravity. I press in closer, then closer still. Smoothing a hand against the silken material of his shirt and the hard contours of his torso, I ask, “Pretty please?”
I step back, and his smile broadens. Finally, he reaches out a hand to me, and I take it.
“Okay, Catwoman,” he says. “Let’s dance.”
