REVIEW:
Fractured Light is a one of a kind novel, something I haven’t read before in the Young Adult genre and its fantastic fantasy story captured my attention right from the beginning. Rachel McClellan created character and unique magic abilities that I can’t wait to read more about.

Llona has been practically hiding her whole life, not only about what she is but the creatures that are after her. After the death of her parents Llona moves to a town where she tries to not stand out and hide that she’s an Aura, who can control lights energy. But it seems the past may have caught up to her and dark beings known as Vykens are taunting her. Luckily she’s been assigned a Guardian unknowingly and together they must work together to fight a dangerous Vyken.

Llona was a brave and determined girl, who finally wants to stop hiding and fight back against the beings that took her parents from her. I loved how she wanted to fight back, her kind normally hides, but she isn’t backing down. She lives with her uncle who also is having a hard time after loosing his brother, her father. Both her parents were different like her and it seems their strengths have been passed to their daughter. From what I read it seems Llona has a bit of her fathers Guardian half and her mothers Aura half that mixed into her strength. I hope to learn more about Llona’s abilies in the next books.

Christian was a bit of a mystery at first, I didn’t know if I was going to like him or want to smack the back of his head and wake him up. He is really serious about his position as Llona’s Guardian. The chemistry between Llona and Christian is undeniable and both really want to be together but the rules of the Aura and Guardians, has made it forbidden for them to be together. I loved his overprotectiveness and how he realizes sometimes breaking the rules are worth it.

Overall I really enjoyed this book, it was fast paced and in the end it left me wanting more. I really can’t wait to see what happens next and especially since Llona is about to learn more about the Auras. I highly recommend this young adult novel to fantasy fans, with the action, magic and romance that everyone will enjoy.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is a young adult book that you’ll never want to put down. Fans of Jennifer Esteps Mythos Academy series and Jennifer Armentrouts Covenant series will want to get their hands on Rachel McClellans Fractured Light.
