BLURB:
There is need. And then there is Fate...
Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.
When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.
When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

REVIEW:
Wow! Just wow, this was an intense second installment. Pretty much my emotions were all over the place with everything that happens. I was highly anticipating Pure and couldn’t wait to step into the mythological world with Alex again.
Alex just went through one heck of a battle, with the loss of her mother for the second time and learning that she’s destined for something that will change her life forever. Now she’s back to training even harder with the one guy who she can’t get out of her head, Aiden. But nothing seems to go right for a girl destined to be with another guy and awaken the power that’s deep within her. Along with keeping the council happy and herself out of trouble, Alex has a long road ahead of her.
Alex stays about the same, acts before she thinks but is brave to no end. She really has this appeal that some may find annoying but I find intriguing. Plus being stuck in a love triangle with two guys, whom I find completely appealing in every way, isn’t such a bad thing. As always she gets in trouble and I mean a lot, though she doesn’t mean for herself to get stuck in a situation, she just really has bad timing.
What I really enjoyed the most were the interactions between Seth and Alex, Seth wasn’t someone who I was fond of in Half-Blood but I absolutely loved him in Pure. Let just say he has his moments where he annoys Alex but all in all he really is the only one who truly gets her. Yes, then there is Aiden, but this time around I found him rather annoying. He gets Alex too, but he says all the wrong things and I hope he can redeem himself.
Overall I had a blast reading Pure, Alex has to deal with some intense authority figures that want to tear her down and some really sad bits happen that I won’t spoil. Once again a well-written and captivating story by Jennifer Armentrout, with all the romance, action and mystery that everyone will love. I highly recommend this exciting second installment in the Covenant series.
RECOMMENDATION:
This is a young adult book that you’ll never want to put down. Fans of author Jennifer Estep of the Mythos Academy series and C.C. Hunter of the Shadow Falls series should get their hands on Pure by Jennifer Armentrout.
