It’s the perfect place to hide, and bonus, her new roommates can help her find the mysterious note. With John as their pseudo-father, they know what he does every day, and with who. Katz can’t afford any distractions, but she soon finds herself getting attached to the orphans—and John—even helping him plan for their futures. Each day she spends in the past is another day closer to her deadline, another day closer to returning to her own time, and another day John and this makeshift family get dangerously closer to her heart. But Katz staying in the past would have dire consequences for them all.
REVIEW:
I was super excited to read this series, I'm a huge fan of Timeless the tv show and after reading the synopsis for the Time Weavers series, it was calling my name.A Pocket of Time follows Katz and team member of the Time Weavers Inc. who is given the task of going back in time to when Napoleon existed to reverse something that disrupted the current history. USA is no longer and they need to correct a note that carried special information and make sure it got into the right hands. Katz goes undercover as a middle class widow who joins a young group of pick pocketers and the man who protects them, the wealthy Lord John Byron. But when the heart start causing problems as Katz gets close to him, she starts to question if changing history is worth letting her heartbreak.
Katz is a fantastic lead, she grew up on the streets and going back in history and once again putting herself on the streets with young boys who are like her, she is able to adapt quickly. She becomes protective over the boys who are unknowingly helping her change history back to the correct ways. Her connection to Lord John Byron was entertaining at first because their interactions were hilarious, he had no idea how much of a handful Katz was going to be. Their chemistry was their right from the start and every interaction there after was more and more steamy, until the pages caught fire.
Overall this was such a great new series for me as well as new author, I did not read the first book, however I never felt lost. I look forward to going back and reading what happened to the first couple because their story sounds like a great one. In the end I highly recommend this series not only for historical romances lovers but for anyone who enjoys history, as the history aspects were fantastically well thought out.
