LADIES AND GENTS! I have an announcement! You know that guy I featured on my blog a few months ago? The really, really hot Irish rugby player who plays the position of ‘hooker’ in the RLI (Rugby League International)? The one with the questionable fashion choices leading me to ask whether he was the lovechild of a leprechaun and a hobbit? The one with the anger management issues and the body of a gladiator and the face of a movie star? Ronan Fitzpatrick? Yeah, that guy.Well, I have a confession to make…
Annie Catrel, social media expert extraordinaire at Davidson & Croft Media and clandestine celebrity blogger, can make anyone shine in the court of public opinion. She is the Socialmedialite, anonymous creator of New York’s Finest and the internet’s darling. Virtual reality is Annie’s forte, but actual reality? Not so much.
THE HOOKER
Ronan Fitzpatrick, aka the best hooker the world of rugby has seen in decades, despises the media—social or otherwise. The press has spun a web of lies depicting him as rugby’s wild and reckless bad boy.
Suspended from his team, Ronan has come to Manhattan to escape the drama, lay low, fly under the radar. Only, Ronan isn’t easy to overlook, and he can’t escape the notice of the Socialmedialite…
THE PLAN
When Ronan is sent to Davidson & Croft Media to reshape his public image, he never expects to cross paths with shy but beautiful Annie, nor does he expect his fierce attraction to her. He couldn’t be happier when her boss suggests pairing them together.
What lengths will Annie take to keep her virtual identity concealed? And what happens when the hooker discovers who the hermit really is?
The Hooker and the Hermit is a collaboration between authors L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid, is a full length 100k word novel, and is a standalone.
REVIEW:
Blogging as “Seeing Night Reviews” Its one of the days where I’m happy to be a blogger and review, because a book like this is the reason I love reading. I’m also about sizzling storylines with hot romance, but I love smart witty humor and two people that connect so well it feels like I’m reading about real people. I can’t write how much I love this book without squealing like a fan girl, but this is my must read of 2015, I loved it!The Hooker and the Hermit follows “The Hermit” aka Annie Catrel who is a social media genius but would rather stay home that socialize. Running a successful blog and posting about celebrities is a breeze for Annie, until she snaps a photo and post about an up and coming professional rugby player that looks like Colin Ferrell. Thus introducing “The Hooker” aka Ronan Fitzpatrick who is a star and best hooker in rugby. Ronan hates the media but needs to up his image, his PR Company pairing him with their best Annie, to help. But he doesn’t know Annie wrote the article that angered him nor can he deny his attraction to this blushing PR genius.
Annie is hilarious; she is kind of a mess and seriously has some bad social issues. She gets scared when it comes to confrontation and being put at the center of discussion. Now being paired with Ronan whom she bashed in her latest article, flusters her and takes her out of her comfort zone. I adored watching the wall she put up for so long come down. She was like a scared little mouse and Ronan comes barreling in at full speed, waking her up. The connection between Annie and Ronan is hot and the tension was unbelievable, I loved ever scene together.
Ronan is a dominant and tough athlete, his Irish charm and good looks make him a great PR find. But he isn’t all that excited to be put in the spotlight especially after his ex cheated on him. But when he meets Annie, he can’t resist he cute and awkward demeanor. He pushes all the barriers that Annie has up, she can’t resist him nor can he get enough of her. I adored their snarky comments and laugh out loud awkward moments. He is so sweet to her as well, when she does the most embarrassing things, he just thinks she’s down right adorable. I couldn’t swoon enough!
Overall this is by far my favorite book of the year, I was laughing and falling in love along with these wonderful characters. The writing is excellent, I never put the book down and even though I wish it never ended I couldn’t get through it fast enough. I can’t wait for more collaboration between these two amazingly talented authors.
