A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
A competition…

He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…

Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.

He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .

But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.

I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.

If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

REVIEW:

First off, I adore the name Remy, its just one of those names that sounds sexy. And after reading some seriously awesome reviews of Evans’ books I had to give this series a shot. Boy was I seriously happy I put this one at the top of my list. Remington is one hell of an alpha male, a fighter and would make any girl melt.

Real follows Brooke, a woman whose dreams were shattered the day she injured herself doing the one thing she loved, crushing her Olympics hopes. Luckily she was able to continue with college and graduate with a degree in athletic rehabilitation. But Brooke wasn’t prepared to come face to face with a Fighter who sparks a fire in her. Remington wants Brooke the minute he sees her and hires her to help with anything that could turn into a serious injury. But there is so much more he wants from her and hopes that his dark side doesn’t ruin everything.

Brooke is a smart woman, who is not someone who would normally be caught in an underground fighting ring. Brooke is not only intimidated by Remington by just looking at him, but feels an immediate attraction to this tough and unstoppable fighter. She doesn’t really grasp why Remy wants to hire her, but she needs the experience and job to help build her resume. I loved every minute with Brooke and Remy, she puts up a tough face when he loses his temper and also loves her time with him especially when sharing music. The cutest parts were both of them expressing their feelings through music instead of words.

Remington Riptide Tate is one of the greatest fighters in the underground ring. Formally was going for pro but was kicked out due to a fight outside of the ring. When he first meets Brooke it’s an instant connection, he decides hiring her to travel with him is the best way to keep her close. But the closer they get the more Remy worries about showing Brooke the darker side of him. Remy is a complex character with a tough upbringing, with parents not knowing how to deal with his issue send him away and only coming to him now for money. Brooke opens him up and accepts him not matter his flaws. Their dynamic is wonderful and their connection is steamy and intense. I loved every minute and every scene together.

Overall I thought this story was fantastic, I loved the rough and intense underground fighting scene, and how it’s just as crazy as the pro scene. Both Remy and Brooke have their weaknesses and both want to protect each other from the enemies he has. I enjoyed a lot of the secondary characters including Melanie, Brookes BFF and crazy fighting fanatic and Peter Remy’s friend and fighting rep. I can’t wait to continue the Real series and look forward to more Remy and Brooke.

RECOMMENDATION:

This is a contemporary mature romance with sexual content meant for mature readers. Fans of Wallbanger by Alice Clayton and the Fixed series by Laurelin Paige will enjoy Real by Katy Evans
