REVIEW:
I have to say I was not prepared for this story, nor can I believe that this was Pryor’s debut novel. Blood Shadows blew my mind not only because the characters were emotionally intense and complex, but also the plot was a perfectly carved creation that’s twist and suspense kept me speechless.

Blood Shadows follows Caitlin Parish, who works for an agency called the VCU. They keep the vampires in check and at this moment are trying to track down a master vampire known as Kane. Caitlin wants him not only because the agency does but also he may be the key into finding out what killed her parents. But getting close to someone like Kane isn’t going to be easy because he’s been waiting for her too.

Caitlin is an act first and thinks later type of girl, getting herself into some sticky situations and in trouble for not following orders. She is also someone who has constant shields up, not only for her having a special ability but with the lose of her family and the possibility of her having the same fate; she doesn’t open up. I loved the chemistry she has with Kane, she fights so hard to be this tough unbreakable person, but she’s so fragile and Kane slowly peels those layers. They had such an interesting dynamic and intense connection that scared them both. She also never backs down on her goal; she wants answers and will fight hard to get them with what time she has left.

Kane right off knows the agency is following him, he’s been waiting and mostly for Caitlin. He needs her as much as she needs him. He has a terrible reputation and is wanted for crimes of many innocent lives. Caitlin is special to him and pretty much has stalked him for some time. It was interesting reading about his character, finding out the real story behind his actions; he is just as emotional as Caitlin but takes matters into his own hands with a little force. I fell for this guy, even though he is not the sweet charming type, his rough demeanor makes him something special.

Overall this was one heck of a story, extremely detailed all though out. The plot is complex to a point where the author can do so much and keep her readers hooked for many books to come. There is of course romance, hot and heavy to the max, but it also gives the readers insight to these two broken characters. Blood Shadows has a lot of kick, action and gets down to the nitty-gritty of things. I highly recommend it, this isn’t your sweet romantic vampire book that your use to; this has one heck of a bite.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is a paranormal romance story that contains sexual content meant for a mature reader. Fans of Keri Lakes Soul Avenged and Jeaniene Frost’s Night Prince series will want to get their hands on Blood Shadows by Lindsay Pryor’s Blood Shadows.

  1. Sounds great! Nice to come across titles like this that have all the sharp teeth and tension and romance that we're craving, but none of the cheesy stuff.

You wrote such a wonderful review, would you consider blurbing it over at Bookstore Bookblogger Connection?
