BLURB:
For fifteen years Luc Le Daun has blamed himself for the death of the woman he loved. His secret guilt has led him into a life of danger, risking all and committing to none.
Killing Luc Le Daun has been all Jade Kendell has thought about for years. But when her plan goes awry and she’s brought into the Bringers’ fold, her own dark secret threatens to be revealed. Desire for a better life wars with a promise made long before she understood the ramifications.
In a deadly mission, Jade and Luc embark on a journey into the Shadow World. As they attempt the impossible, ignoring the attraction growing between them becomes harder to deny. The slightest misstep could mean the loss of their souls and give the Demon King exactly what he needs to open the Abyss of Souls and annihilate the Bringers.

REVIEW:
I’m always very cautious when reading the second installment in a series, especially when I really enjoyed the first. But I have to say I absolutely loved, the second book in Bringer and the Bane series, actually much more than the first if that’s possible. Both Jade and Luc captivated me from the first book but for their story I never wanted to put this book down for one second.
Kiss of the Betrayer follows Jade Kendell, a woman who has been on a mission to kill one man, along with her sister who was also scorned. Luc Le Daun doesn’t know what’s coming when he meets Jade and doesn’t realize this woman is about to change his life and take him on one dangerous journey.
Jade, I adore this girl, such a tough but innocent character who is burden with the fact that her sister has turned to a darker side. She loves her sister, no matter what, she would do anything to stick by her side and try to help her. I loved their journey together, what the readers learn of their family history and how both are very connected to Luc. This story really is about the bonds of sisters and how each never really wants to give up on each other even though they’re on opposite sides. Jades connection with Luc was very sweet, steamy and really watched each other’s backs when they embark on some dangerous territory. I enjoyed their connection and development, which was nice to see take a slower path than jumping right into bed.
Luc, the playboy from the first book really gets a major face-lift. He doesn’t expect Jade and he was damaged by what he thought happened to her and her family. Now he has to try and earn her trust, help her with her sister and fight the ever-powerful Bane. His character still has his cocky moments but I felt sobered up a little as the story moved on, I loved his fun demeanor and how his relationship changes with Jade. The readers see a softer side to him, even when his father is introduced to jade; it was a nice touch to his tough character.
Overall this was a fantastic second book, all the characters are back and better than ever. The readers get to see Ravyn and Rhys’ story develop a bit more, along with getting more history on the Bringers themselves. Bruxs’ writing creates a wonderfully fast paced tale with none stop action. The demons have so many tricks up their sleeves this time around, plus even they can’t trust their own. Though the readers do get some of their questions answered, more has been brought out in this chapter, especially with the Bringers. I have a feeling the next story is going to follow Rell, Jade’s sister and how she can find her way to the right path with the help of a certain guy, at least that’s what I’m hoping for!
RECOMMENDATION:
This is an adult novel with mature sexual content. Fans of Alyssa Day’s Warrior of Poseidon series and Gena Showalter Lords of the Underworld series will love Boone Brux’s Kiss of the Betrayer.

AUTHOR BIO:
As a multi-published and an award-winning author, Boone's writing drips with experiences from real life. Addicted to anything that might make a good story, she weaves tales that range from dark fantasy to humorous romance. Settled in the icy regions of Alaska with the love of her life and twin daughters, it's not uncommon to find her tapping away on her iPad on a windy beach or the barren tundra. Be warned, anyone and every event is fodder for one of Boone's novels.
