{Blog Tour: Celia Graves Interview} The Eldritch Conspiracy by Cat Adams

Seeing Night Reviews has a special treat for all the Blood Singer series fans! Erin Bliss of KNOW is here to interview Celia Graves! Don't miss out on this exclusive interview! The Eldritch Conspiracy is the 5th book in the series.
Erin we’re on the air in 3 – 2 – 1

EB:      This is Erin Bliss of KNOW, the voice of Santa Maria de Luna.  Today I’m pleased to be interviewing entrepreneur and local celebrity Celia Graves who has run a personal security firm here in Santa Maria for a number of years now and is the cousin of Princess Adriana of the Pacific Sirens.  Welcome Celia.

CG:     Thank you for having me here Erin.

EB:      So, Celia, you’ve been a bodyguard for a while now, working with movie stars, rock musicians, protecting the rich and famous.  I’ve got to ask, who was the most difficult person to work with?

CG:     The most difficult assignment I’ve had was actually none of the above.  I’d been hired to protect a prince.  I did my research.  Everything looked okay.  But it was a set-up.  The “prince” was actually a spawn.  We wound up getting attacked in an alley.   The other bodyguards were killed, and I was partially transformed by a master vampire.

EB:      Which is how you ended up with that pale complexion and those terrifying teeth of yours?

CG:     Yes.

EB:      Do people ever mistake you for an actual vampire?

CG:     They used to.  People would panic and spray me down with holy water, even in broad daylight.  But now I’ve become well known enough that it’s not usually a problem.

EB:      Yes, about that.  You’re siren royalty.   What’s that like?

CG:     It was a bit of a shock at first.  I had no idea prior to the vampire attack.  But when the vampire bit me it did something to trigger my latent siren abilities.  I wound up meeting relatives I never even knew existed.

EB:      Including your cousin Adriana.

CG:     Yes.

EB:      In case any of you listeners haven’t been paying attention to the news, Princess Adriana of the Pacific Sirens has recently become engaged – to King Dahlmar of Rusland, and I understand you’re going to be part of the wedding party.  How exciting!

CG:     Yes, it is, very exciting.

EB:      Will you be expected to perform any security functions, or are you just bridesmaiding?

CG:     The sirens have their own Secret Service agency, and their people are very skilled; and there’s also King Dahlmar’s people.  So it seems a little unlikely that I’ll be needed to do more than hold the bouquet.

EB:      Yes, I suppose.  But then again, you never know.  There have been rumors that the princess is in danger and that you’ll be protecting her.

CG:     There are rumors like that about any celebrity wedding.  Still, I try to be prepared for anything.

EB:      Will they be making any special changes to the wedding events to accommodate your special needs?

CG:     I’m not sure what you mean.

EB:      Well, will the weddings need to be held at night—are there any special dietary restrictions you need to follow, like avoiding garlic.  Things like that.

CG:     I’m not actually a vampire.  While I’ve got to be careful to use sunscreen when I’m outdoors, I’m fine inside and am not nocturnal.  I haven’t reached the point where I can eat most solid food yet, but garlic is not a problem, and I love soups, applesauce . . .

EB:      You said you can’t eat most solid food yet do you mean you may, eventually, be able to eat normally?

CG:     That’s the hope.  I really miss eating steak . . . and chocolate chip cookies.

EB:      So, is eating normally what you miss most about your old life?

CG:     One of the things.

EB:      What’s another?

CG:     Riding in my convertible during the day with the top down.

EB:      And what’s the biggest advantage you’ve found with your new abilities?
CG:     The healing.  In my line of work injuries are bound to happen occasionally.  It’s really nice to have such a short recovery time.

EB:      Well folks, it looks like we’re out of time.  I want to thank you again Celia for coming by.

CG:     It’s been a pleasure.  Thanks for having me.

THE ELDRITCH CONSPIRACY
by Cat Adams

Celia Graves was once an ordinary human, but those days are long gone. Now she strives to maintain her sanity and her soul while juggling both vampire abilities and the powers of a Siren.

Not every bride needs a bridesmaid who can double as a bodyguard. But Celia's cousin Adriana is no ordinary bride: she's a Siren princess, and she's marrying the king of a small but politically important European country. She's getting death threats from fanatics who want to see the whole Siren race wiped out—including Celia herself, who is half Siren.

Luckily, Celia is on duty when a trip to a bridal salon is interrupted by an assassination attempt, so everyone survives. When Adriana returns to the Siren homeland to try to prevent a coup, Celia is free to hunt for the terrorists and the vile mage who is helping them (while keeping her eyes open for the perfect maid-of-honor dress).

Assuming the bride and groom both live to see their wedding day, this will be one royal wedding no one will ever forget.
