With lives on the line, bad blood and old wounds finally see the light of day. And Frankie and Jack are forced to realize: The past always catches up with you.

Always.

REVIEW:
Frankie Post is a private detective with a dark past and has an interesting way of finding anything. When a young girl goes missing Frankie does what she does best, goes face first into the case. This one being a dangerous human trafficking operation, while also risking exposure to her past life.

Taken is a very intense novel, the characters are feisty, steamy and snarky and it really brings to life this paranormal crime story. Though Frankie is the lead female her male partner and lover Jack made the pages sizzle with the sexual tension. They have a long and dark history together and have done everything to keep it hidden, until this case.

The plot is pretty intense with the subject case, though I would of liked to see more of the paranormal element of what Frankie can do. It wasn’t talked about as much as I thought it would be, but if your looking for a crime novel this is the main focus. Frankie and Jack are the key characters and they make some pretty steamy moments with some of the secondary characters as a couple, if you know what I mean.

Overall this was a great twist in the crime genre and had a lot of romance, shocking story turns and entertaining characters. My only complaint is that I just couldn’t connect with any of the character emotionally. I’m a reader who always finds that one character that I just loved and it makes me keep on reading till the end. But I really couldn’t find a character that I really liked; they were interesting and entertaining in their own way but none a favorite. The most interesting plot surprise was the ending and I’m interested to see where Frankie and Jacks new journey takes them.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is an adult novel with sexual content and should be read by those who are 18 and older. Fans of the passion and writing of Stacey Kennedy and Stephanie Julian will enjoy this steamy crime-fighting novel.
