REVIEW:
Sleepers is a beautifully crafted young adult fantasy novel, that was extremely original and exciting from beginning to end. Megg Jensen created memorable characters with so many twist and turns I was surprised with every turn of the page.

Sleepers follows Lianna on of the children giving to the enemy the Fithians. As she grows she becomes the best friend and assistant to the Queen and her children. Her people the Dalagans were once known for the blood having magic within them, but were defeated by the Fithians and the children were taking as a peaceful offering. But on Lianna’s sixteenth birthday she finds out that the magic is still there in her blood and everything changes. She must choose who to trust and find out what lies are actually true.

Jensen created a wonderful set of characters, Sleepers follows not only Lianna but also the two boys given to the enemy. Bryden is the youngest who is quiet and crimpled from an accident when he was a child. Kellan is the eldest who acts as a fighter and a leader. Both boys care for her and hope that Lianna will choose them. The chemistry between each boy and Lianna I felt was what really made the story. I can’t say much more without giving away important details because as the story moves forwards it’s clear whom she will choose.

This was a very fast paced story, with Lianna being a loyal and smart lead character. She is a warrior at heart and brought to life the world Jensen created with twist, turns and fantastic moments.  I can’t wait to see what happens next with the ending leaving me curious to what will happen next. I highly recommend the Swarm Series.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is a young adult book with vivid battle scenes and memorable characters. Fans of the Mortal Instrument series and Hunger Games, I feel will enjoy this new series.
