REVIEW
I had this series recommended to me from a book group, after picking up the first group I read all four in the span of a week. I love the world building, the different aliens, but more so I love the Dakkari. Each story follows a Horde King and his interaction and building romance with a human female. Each character and romance is vastly different, as well as the backstory of something brewing in their world continues in each book. This one follow Kiran and Maeve, who actually grew up together, which is rare for their kind to do so. They had a strong bond growing up, but it eventually lead to Maeve being heartbroken and Kiran leaving to become a Horde King.It shows bits of the past and present, which helps understand how these two became who they are now. Maeve has become a healer and has come to Kiran's horde at his request. Now the two have to learn how to heal the wounds of the past along with the dangers of their world growing each day. I can't wait to meet the next couple and so interested in all the new Horde Kings of the future who are coming to battle something happening in the Dead Land.
