BLURB:
Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

REVIEW:
And I thought this series couldn’t get any better after the last book, but I was so very wrong. Armentrout never ceases to amaze me with how she connects her readers to her characters and the details in the scary situations she puts them in. I felt like I was there with Alex and Aiden through every battle, every emotional set back and the romance that I can’t get enough of.

Apollyon follows once again Alex, one of two Apollyon’s who at the moment has awakened, losing herself and is now connected the Seth. Aiden will stop at nothing to bring her back along with all those closest to her. Alex herself must fight being connected to him and stop Seth from becoming the God Killer. Little do they know that something even more powerful is wanting in on all the fighting and it’s looking for Alex.

Alex I felt this time around was extremely challenged, she has now lost control and can only think and wanting Seth. I loved how JLA twisted Alex’s character from her strong independent self to being so one minded in the first half. It showed the very essence of Alex’s fears being connected to Seth. She takes on a lot this time around, even if you may think she’s already been through enough JLA was only giving the readers a peek into the dangers. The ending with Alex being put in a situation that is beyond belief I felt is just the beginning of seeing what is in store for her, it seriously had me strangling my book in awe on what happened.

Aiden, this poor guy has the patients of a saint. I have no idea how he was able to deal with everything that happened, especially in the first half of the book. Seriously it made me love him even more. He is challenged along with Alex, having to face the past, powerful beings and the hardest part… the possibility of loosing Alex. But nonetheless we get some fantastic scenes with Alex and Aiden that will make all the fan girls squee in excitement. No matter the forbidden love, through and through they have fought for their love and they want every moment to count.

Overall the first few chapters the readers get to see a big change for their favorite characters. I never wanted this epic chapter to end; with only one book left I don’t know how I’ll be able to let these characters go. Seth of course has changed but I’m still hoping he can redeem himself somehow because I still like this crazy guy. Apollyon was everything I could ask for to set the readers up for the finale, romance that gets the heart pumping, battles that break the heart and make you hold your breath, and twist that will make your jaw hit the floor. The last few pages were intense and a prefect beginning to the next and final book.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is a young adult novel that gets more and more addicting with each book. Fans of Jennifer Esteps Mythos Academy series and Aimee Carters Goddess Test series will love Jennifer Armentrouts Covenant series.

  1. Great book! I just wish we weren't kept hanging all the time! It's sooooo frustrating! I just hope the next one comes out soon or is already out.
