BLURB:
When archaeoloist Chloe Broussard acccepts the contract to lead a dig in Ornes, France, she has no idea she will uncover the Veil of Veronica. When she does, she discovers a danger far greater than the demons she's confronted since childhood. Azazel wants her, as well as the Veronica, and his chosen minion is her brother. Her hope lies with immortal Templar Knight Lucan. Her life depends on oaths she knows nothing about.

For countless centuries, Lucan of Seacourt has lived with the knowledge that his brother killed their family. Now, as Azazel's darkness eats away at his soul, old betrayal stirs suspicion. He trusts no one. Not even the seraph who can heal his dying spirit.

With the fate of the Almighty hanging in the balance, Lucan must find faith in something more terrifying than the dark lord's creations. He must learn to believe his heart.

REVIEW:
Totally loving this series so far, Immortal Trust is the 3rd book in the Curse of the Templars series and by far my favorite. Once again Ashgrove brings together two people who are destined for each other and the demons that want to destroy not only their happiness, but also take an important artifact of the Templar to Azazel. I feel after reading the second installment and now the third that this shouldn’t be read as a stand-alone. I was able to read the second without reading the first but too much happens in Immortal Trust I feel it should be read from the start.

Immortal Trust follows Chloe Broussard, she is in search for the Veil of Veronica after accepting a contract along with her brother. She is also followed by demonic beings that make her nights miserable without being able to sleep. Luck comes when the Templar Knights are sent to the dig site to assist and for Lucan to meet his seraph. But Azazel also wants the Veil and has sent a minion to get right in the middle of it all. Together Chloe and Lucan must work together to keep the veil safe as well as fighting off the demons that are waiting for the right moment to attack.

Lucan was introduced slightly earlier in the series; I was intrigued by him and was happy to get his point of view. Right from the start he is trying to earn Chloe’s trust without telling her who he really is and that she’s his seraph. When he realizes how close the demons are getting to her, he makes sure to not leave her side if he can help it. Lucan was extremely patient with Chloe, as she becomes frustrating with her trust issues I loved how much time he gave her. He was by far my favorite out of the men so far with how he handled telling Chloe about Templars too.

Chloe is stubborn and not sure about trusting Lucan. I really enjoyed their banter and how they slowly began trusting each other. My only issue with her was that she didn’t see what was right in front of her. Clearly Lucan was a good guy and clearly her brother’s attitude had changed drastically. I felt the focus on this couple kept me more on the edge than the previous because the dangers were so close that I didn’t know if they were going to get out danger.

There are also some side stories that are moving along with Chloe’s brother Julian and the lost Knight Declan. Julian I loved getting his POV, I felt the struggled in him and was really rooting for him. Declan, I feel is really putting himself in a tough spot and I’m super curious as to what his actions in the end with cost him.

Overall this series is still kicking and strongly I might add. The romance is a key and Ashgrove connects you to the leads and makes you want them to be together. This time around I really enjoyed the adventure side of the story, uncovering about the artifacts and fighting off the demons. The best part is reading how each new couple learns about their task and destiny against the evil.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is an adult series that contains a bit of violence and sexual content for mature readers. Fans of Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed series and Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series will love Immortal Surrender by Claire Ashgrove.
