{Character Interviews} Cicada by Belle Whittington

Today I'd like to welcome a fun group a young friends from Cicada, who are here to answer my questions, get ready for some interesting answers!

SNR: What is your ideal summer vacation? With friends or family? 

David interrupts the rest of the group by saying, “I’ll answer this one.”  Then he puts his arm around Natalie and says, “Best vacation would be me and Natalie on a tropical island.”

“I’d like to go on a trip to the Congo for bug collecting,” Everett said while pushing his glasses up.  “With friends would be the most fun…if I could get them to come along.  What about you, Blair?  Would you go?”

“Try and stop me, Bug Boy!” Blair giggled and elbowed Everett in the ribs.

“My perfect vacation?  All of my friends, the ones sitting here with me today, and my family on a camping trip in the mountains.  I think that would be the perfect vacation,” Andrew answered, smiling at his friends.

“What David said,” Natalie answered, smiling and gently laying her head on David’s shoulder.

SNR: If you could read any book what genre would it be and why? 

“Entomology-related literature is my favorite,” Everett spoke up first.  “You know…bugs?”

Everyone else laughs so hard no one else can answer.  David shakes his head “no” as if he doesn’t read much. But Blair speaks up and says, “I’m actually reading Hunger Games right now.  I love it, because I can totally relate to Katniss!”

SNR:Where is your favorite place to hang out with your friends?

“The Sonic,” the whole group spoke in unison. 

SNR: How would you describe the town you live in here in Texas? 

“Willis is a small, inconsequential town,” Blair answered.  “It’s the gateway to Lake Conroe.  It might be a little town.  But believe me, there’s a whole lot that goes on here!” Her tone was serious, almost eerie.  The rest of the group just sort of nods or looks down at the floor.

SNR: What are your top 5 favorite movies?  

“Star Trek, Star Wars, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Cocoon, Jurassic Park,” Everett answers.  “What?  I like dinosaurs!” he snorts and pushes his glasses up.
