Levi's job is to protect his human until it's their time to go. That's what a Guard does. He's done it for years on end, and he'll spend his eternity doing the same, mundane thing, following the same, mundane rules.
...Watch from afar.
...Never share your name.
...And above all, never touch a human.
What Levi doesn't know is that his newest human to protect, Hannah, just might be the catalyst to tipping the scales between good and evil, and he will be forced to decide which side he belongs to. Which friends will he side with, and who will he ultimately protect: his human, or the delicate balance that hangs on stopping the heartbeat of the person he has sworn to protect?
And, when you're already condemned, what's there to lose by breaking the rules?
THE GUARDIAN CHRONICLES: FORBIDDEN will take you into a world of Guards and Guardians, Light and Darkness. What side will you take?

REVIEW:
Forbidden is an Angel novel that puts an interesting twist on the angel mythology. The tone of angels is far darker than what I normally read, their views on human are harsh and I felt sorry for the humans who were suppose to be protected by these “angels”. But nonetheless there is always one that breaks the cycle and that is Levi, who finally feels for the one human he must protect. It’s a story the focuses on a change of heart and forbidden love.
Forbidden follows Levi, an “Angel” who must protect his call until their final days have come. But when he feels a connection with Hannah and is told that her life must come to a short end in a tragic accident, he will do anything to prevent her death. But in changing her path his path will take a unique change and many dangerous “angels” will come to stop him.
Levi the protagonist, the reader follows him through his rough journey of trying to redeemed his past and become a guardian. He’s the type of guy who feels that he should be punished for the past crime he actually didn’t commit, I really felt for him when he talks about what really happened. He’s definitely a fighter and really wants to protect his call Hannah. His attraction to Hannah was something I couldn’t grasp, she was lacking something and really didn’t appreciate all the Levi was sacrificing for her the way I thought she should.
Hannah is pretty taken back when she meets Levi who can’t seem to resist her. Her best friend Angie, who has a lot of spunk and I felt was far more interesting than Hannah was a great character. She had a really twisted story line that made her character pretty intriguing. I did enjoy the relationship Hannah and Angie had, both pretty determined to help each other with all the chaos that was going on around them. In the end Hannah role finally has a purpose in the story, which I’m interested to see how she’ll grow.
Overall I enjoyed Forbidden by Megan Curd, she has built a mythology on angels that’s very original and I’m hoping we get to meet more of them in the following novels. I’m hoping Hannah will grow on me in the upcoming books, and I can’t wait to read more about Levi.
RECOMMENDATION:
This is a young adult novel that really takes a twist in the angel mythology. Fans of P.T. Michelle, author of The Brightest Kind of Darkness and S.R. Johannes, author of Untraceable will enjoy the writing of Megan Curd.
