Please give a warm welcome to author Sara Trimble!

Welcome. Thanks for stopping by to talk with me today. When I asked Kristen what topics she requires for blog posts, she told me: “character posts, excerpts, discussions about the world they created, how they started writing, anything you want”.My first thought was Okay, this should be easy. Boy was I wrong. I'm still new to the world of blogging and I often find it hard to decide what to talk about. I want to be interesting enough that the readers don't get bored or wonder why this woman's even here. Talk about no pressure.

As I type, I decided I'm going to take the readers to Willowbank. This is the place where my novel, Heart Over Mind, is centered. Willowbank is a castle built in the 1500s in the country of Albania. It's been home to the Rosenbaum bloodline since the beginning ruler, William Doogal. When his daughter was born with magic powers, he had a special wing , the Vardo, built onto the building, and cloaked by Gypsies so she could practice her magic without detection from the outside world. In the twenty-first century, it's now home to a group of Graidas, magickal bodyguards, and offers protection to anyone with powers that needs help.

You'll find the newest technology, teachers of different areas of expertise, sexy men and women who would sacrifice their lives for you, and a whole clan of mystical creatures. Just because these people look normal, doesn't mean they are! There's humans too, but most of them have some impressive talent or another: crystal ball gazing, telekinesis, telepathy, power over the weather, the ability to learn the history of an object just by touching it. And that's just the start! I've included something for everyone. Werewolves(though they don't actually appear in the book. There's just a case that revolves around them) vampires, fairies of different types, elves, psychics, Gypsys, dragons, unicorns, and a whole lot of magic.

I wish I could tell you how I came to create this impressively elaborate world. But I can't. I don't remember what went through my mind. I do remember that I wanted a paranormal story, but I couldn't decide what creatures(i. e., fairies, elves, psychics) so I decided to incorporate them all. I tried to infuse a variety of my favorite books and television shows into this one story. For example, the learning of new powers and school-like atmosphere is a bit like X-Men. The magic family line is a bit like Charmed. There's a lot of other stuff that I used to remember, but due to my over-stressed brain and long list of to-do's, I can't recall any more. Maybe after reading it, y'all can pick what it reminds you of.

For a limited time, I have this book listed for the low price of $0.99. It is an ebook and I hope it entertains everyone who's interested. I have one copy available for one lucky commenter, which I will choose at random from random.org. Wow, I hate when I use the same word twice in one sentence. Readers be warned, this is a romance and it does have some hot sex included. You can find an excerpt at my blog at http://saratrimble.wordpress.com/2011/10/15/excerpt-of-heart-over-mind/.

  1. This sounds wonderfully fascinating. There's never enough books with elves! And of course that castle setting is absolutely beautiful. I might have to grab this one for 99 cents if I'm not the lucky winner!

  4. Thanks everyone! I'm so glad you enjoyed my post. I admit, I am in love with this story and have decided to write another book about it, though this will be a short story and focus on the Gypsies, who are the founders for the Vardo, and the whole reason so many fabled creatures could be present in my book. I hope everyone enjoys reading this. That is what I aim to do. Entertaining readers, one page at a time.

Thanks for the well wishes and for visiting with me.
