REVIEW:
Destiny United by Leia Shaw is the second in the series Shadows of Destiny, in a world full of supernatural beings. Where the first book follows Sage and James, Destiny Untied follows Sage’s sister Erin and starts right where the first book left off. I have to say it’s rare for me to like the second book more than the first, but I absolutely loved Marcelo.
*LITTLE SPOILERS BEYONE THIS POINT OF THE FIRST BOOK DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT READ THE FIRST*
At the end of Destiny Divided, Sage Queen of the Underworld sends her friend and vampire Marcelo to get her sister because her life is now in danger. Erin is a timid girl who frequently gets panic attacks and the only thing that relaxes her is drinking and drinking a lot. Marcelo meets Erin right in the middle of her heavy drinking moments and from then on Erin and Marcelo’s lives take an adventurous turn. With a chemistry that sizzles and Erin being more than she ever thought she could be, a destiny that neither of them were prepared for lies ahead.
Marcelo is every girls dream vampire, he’s of Spanish decent with the flirtatious personality that is irresistible and charming. I was excited to learn more about his past, he loved a woman dearly in his past but she ended up betraying his heart. They way he interacted with Erin was hilarious, passionate and just so much fun to watch develop.
Erin was a little frustrating at the beginning but her spunky personality came out over time reminding me a little of her sister Sage who is a totally kick butt. Erin gets thrown into a life she never knew existed and finds out her sister is a powerful Queen. But she also discovers that she too has a secret life she was never told about.
Overall a great paranormal romance, both characters have smoking hot chemistry and great action with humorous moments. Shaw’s world has unfolded into a great series and I cant wait to see what she comes up with next in 2012 with Destiny Unchained.
RECOMMENDATION:
This is an adult book with sexual content and a perfect story for paranormal romance lovers. Fans of Lynsay Sands and Larissa Ione with love this series.

Erin Bolton knows her former foster sister is a sorceress and a witch, but she wants nothing to do with that world. Fear dictates her life, panic attacks disable her, and only alcohol gives her the freedom she craves. The day before her twenty first birthday, a tall, dark, and terrifying vampire, Marcelo, turns Erin's world upside down. He convinces her that he was sent to escort her to the safety of the Underworld, where her sister is waiting. But she wonders, who will keep her safe from him?
Marcelo postponed his eight hundred year search for his wife to perform a small favor for the Queen of the Underworld. When the errand turns into a week long journey across the country toting a fragile female, his life takes a turn for the unexpected. Especially when, on Erin's twenty first birthday, he discovers there is more to this girl than meets the eye. And now instinct claims she's his. His mate. Meant for him, and him alone. Forever.
Can Marcelo give up his dream of reuniting with his long lost wife to be with the woman his body yearns for? Can Erin conquer her deep-rooted fears and confront the destiny only she can fulfill?
