Follow Friday! and Blog Hop {17}

Question this week from parajukee

Q. Your Favorite book/movie character. Who is it and what would be your first reaction?

I Am Number Four Poster
A.  I really enjoyed the adaption of the movie I am Number Four and I thought Alex Pettyfer did a great job as John. Plus the actions scene and the awesome power John is just a kick butt Alien.
I Also have to say I really enjoyed both the book and movie version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Lisbeth is of course my favorite and I thought the swedish version of her character played by Noomi Rapace was brilliant! Im excited to see the new version with Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara.

Question of the week: Crazy-For-Books

Q. What keeps you reading beyond the first pages of the book, and what makes you want to stop reading a book and put it back on the shelf?

A.  I love books that starts of with a bang in the prologues, I'm always captivated to get a scene from either the middle of the book or a POV from the main character just to give me a peek into what I'm going to be reading. As for me to stop reading a book, if the plot is confusing and just all over the place I usually can't go on with reading. The characters really have to pull me into the story or else I feel I can't enjoy the whole book. I don't remember ever not finishing a book, though I have put a book down and read another until I decided to go back and finish it.

  1. Haven't watch Girl with Dragon Tattoo but I read it. And to be truthful, I fell i love with her when the author is describing her looks. I mean, who can be a little taller than 5 ft, has a short, punky haircut and can kick a villain's ass with the computer?And messy books are just a nightmare.

    Have a nice weekend!

  6. I agree about gripping prologues.
    I do try to give every book a chance but don't force myself to continue reading a book that doesn't grab me.

  10. These book blogger hop questions just get better and better. This one looks easy but I think it’s a trick question. We all know it’s the same answer – the writing – but we all have different perspectives of what good writing is.

    Hop on over to my blog at http://www.howardsherman.net and read my three-prong answer as I explain why I’ll decide to pick up a book or put it down in under sixty seconds.

    Happy July 4th Weekend!

  11. I haven't read I am number four but I really want to before I watch the movie. It looks good!

  12. Hopping through. I agree that confusing plots are one of the biggest turn offs for me. I just don't have the patience to deal with that for too long.
