Question this week from parajukee
Q. Your Favorite book/movie character. Who is it and what would be your first reaction?
A. I really enjoyed the adaption of the movie I am Number Four and I thought Alex Pettyfer did a great job as John. Plus the actions scene and the awesome power John is just a kick butt Alien.
I Also have to say I really enjoyed both the book and movie version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Lisbeth is of course my favorite and I thought the swedish version of her character played by Noomi Rapace was brilliant! Im excited to see the new version with Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara.
Question of the week: Crazy-For-Books
Q. What keeps you reading beyond the first pages of the book, and what makes you want to stop reading a book and put it back on the shelf?
A. I love books that starts of with a bang in the prologues, I'm always captivated to get a scene from either the middle of the book or a POV from the main character just to give me a peek into what I'm going to be reading. As for me to stop reading a book, if the plot is confusing and just all over the place I usually can't go on with reading. The characters really have to pull me into the story or else I feel I can't enjoy the whole book. I don't remember ever not finishing a book, though I have put a book down and read another until I decided to go back and finish it.
Haven't watch Girl with Dragon Tattoo but I read it. And to be truthful, I fell i love with her when the author is describing her looks. I mean, who can be a little taller than 5 ft, has a short, punky haircut and can kick a villain's ass with the computer? And messy books are just a nightmare.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!

I agree about gripping prologues.
ReplyDeleteI do try to give every book a chance but don't force myself to continue reading a book that doesn't grab me.
Have a good weekend

Gripping prologues will grab my attention for sure. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I keep reading a book. It's not the story. It's not the characters. I really don't know!

I haven't read I am number four but I really want to before I watch the movie. It looks good!
ReplyDeleteHopping through. I agree that confusing plots are one of the biggest turn offs for me. I just don't have the patience to deal with that for too long.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
I agree- confusing plots rank up there on the "reasons to stop reading" list! Hopping through to say "have a great weekend!"
