1. Don't call your hot boss the antichrist to his face.
2. Don't stare at hot boss's, um, package or his full sleeve of tattoos. (No. Really. Stop!)
3. Don't get on the malicious first assistant's bad side.
4. Don't forget to memorize the 300-page employee manual.
5. If you value your cashmere, steer clear of boss’s dog.
6. Boss’s dimples are lust-inducing. Do. Not. Give. In.
7. “The elevator ate your clothes” is not a valid excuse for showing up to important meetings half dressed.
8. Don't break seven of the rules within the first week of employment if you, ya know, are in dire need of money to support your sick mom.
9. Whatever you do, don’t fall for the boss. See rule eight about sick mom.
10. Never forget the rules.

REVIEW:

This is my first book by Jennifer Blackwood, I loved the concept behind all the rules and I’m a sucker for office romance after reading the Beautiful Bastard series. Blackwood creates a loveable and corky character in her female lead, she guides you though one heck of a rollercoaster romance.

This was defiantly more of the cute side of new adult than the steamy sexy side I’m use too. So if your looking to tone it down, then this is the romance for you. Lainey steps into her new job and has a foot in mouth moment right off the bat, which the readers will find out she has no control over what comes out of her mouth. Let’s just say meeting her boss and future love interest Brogan, doesn’t start out romantic. She is hilarious and fun, I had a blast reading from her POV.

Brogan is a bit of a mystery since we see a lot of him from Lainey’s POV. He has a major problem with having too many rules, and seems to be very closed off. But I have a massive soft spot for a guy who has a funny farty dog, that adds in some major bonus points.

As I mentioned before this is more of the hint side of steamy moments that happened and no real detailed sexy time. I was a bit bummed about that because its one thing I like about NA, its not too crazy but I always feel the need for a fan while reading one. One other tidbit was that I felt the ending was a bit rushed, I wanted more but it was super sweet and I’ll definitely be continuing the series.

Overall this was a sweet and a great romantic comedy. There are many secondary character who had some special touches to the story, such has Laineys bff Zoey and her mother, which I adored their relationship. This was a cute lighter side of NA that I enjoyed reading.
