REVIEW:This was my second novel by Lori Foster and definitely won't be my last, No Limits is a continuation story in the same setting as Getting Rowdy from Foster Love Undercover series. This time following a rising celebrity MMA fighter and the woman from his past, who are brought together by her late grandfathers wishes. This was a bit heavier of a story line than the first, especially with the length of the novel, but I loved catching up with the past characters and being introduced to new ones.
Cannon Colter is a rising MMA fighter who comes back home after the loss of a family friend and the grandfather of the one girl he let go. Cannon rescued Yvette from a horrendous ordeal a long time ago, thus becoming her hero as well as someone she deeply cared for. But they both went their separate ways and now the time has come to figure out if their destiny's are meant to be together or if a new danger is going to keep them apart.
Cannon is an alpha male who absolutely knows what he wants. He's a fighter heart and soul and also a fighter when it comes to getting Yvette back into his life permanently. After many years of being apart there is a lot of making up too do, especially when he discovers Yvette has been searching for the one man to bring out the spark in her. Since she left she has been missing that something special in a relationship and ended up attracting a man who has now become her stalker. Cannon being protective and an alpha male, will do anything to keep Yvette save as well as keep his promise to her grandfather in bringing Yvette home permanently. I loved how Cannon went from a player persona to a man who knew he had something special, Yvette was the one girl who changed him and the one woman whom he knew could be the one. Their interactions were sweet and smoking hot, and I loved how much he just knew Yvette better than anyone. Plus his jealously moments and macho man acts were adorable, since he normally is a guy who gets the girl, now he has to fight to keep the girl.
Yvette is a young woman who had been dealt with a terrible blow in her past. She in a way is still healing as well as looking for that missing piece in her life and heart. Cannon is the one man whom she loved in the past, but was sadden when he didn't return the feelings. Luckily he is a good guy and treats her with respect and adoration. He also cares for her more than she thinks and he opens her eyes to the fact that other men were not him, and that's what she was missing. Sadly she attracted a man who not only doesn't understand the word" were over", but he becomes extremely obsessed, making Cannon and his MMA buddies have to look out for her. Yvette was an interesting character, very passive and innocent, as well as a social butterfly whom anyone would get along with. Cannon becomes her hero in many sense of the word but her grandfather was the biggest hero by bringing them back together to face the truth.
Overall I love this series, there are such colorful and entertaining characters introduced in each new book. As in the first book, the secondary characters bring to life the story just as much as the two leads. For me I adored Armie and Rissy, and totally hope we see them in the second book because there is just something so funny and entertaining with these two. The romance of course is sexy and the readers will love the tension that is built up. There is a slight mystery and drama that brings together some intense moments for Yvette and Cannon, as it puts them both back into a similar situation like the past. In the end, even though I felt it started out a bit slow the ending result was awesome and the character were easy to connect too that it didn't matter to me. I look forward to seeing how everything turns out for all the characters introduced and cant wait for more of the alpha males MMA fighters to meet their match.
RECOMMENDATION:This is a romance novel with some heavy sexual tension that is suitable for readers 18 and over. Fans of the Real series by Katy Evans and The Burg series by Kristen Ashley will want to get their hands on No Limits by Lori Foster.
