GENRE: Contemporary
THEME: Romance, New Adult
RECEIVED: Netgalley

BLURB:
One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.

But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play.

When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away.

REVIEW:

After finishing the Beautiful Bastard series I was desperate to read more stories similar to it and was thrilled that Christina Lauren (duo) was coming out with a new series! For one I always get a kick out of the book titles, Sweet Filthy Boy, sounds like so much fun! But this as an awesome start with some seriously heavy and hot romance that got me hooked.

Sweet Filthy Boy follows Mia Holland and her friends Harlow and Lola who have just graduated. Their final crazy adventure before each start the next chapter in their lives is going to Las Vegas, a weekend to be wild and free. The girls celebrate the first night away, but Mia catches the eye of a drop-dead gorgeous man across the club. And after one wild night, Mia discovers a ring on her finger and that her life is about to take a step in a direction she wasn’t expecting.

Mia is a rarity; she is passionate about her lost love for dancing, shy, and innocent and always feels the heavy burden of her fathers demands. But Las Vegas was her escape and meeting the charming and passionate Ansel Guillaume, who sweeps her off her feet and shared one heck of a night of fire, she yearns for a change, a challenge, a risk. I loved that Mia was this shy young women who after a tragic accident was finally breaking out of her comfort zone. Ansel awakens her spirit, opens her mind and makes her want to try again to be herself. Their relationship was so sweet, awkward and adorable to watch grow. Yes, they had some intense and very erotic scenes but they explored something that they were both missing, a connection and the possibility for love.

Ansel seems so sweet and mysterious when Mia first encounters him; he is obviously immediately attracted to her. He is also trapped by his father’s demands and the life that he is expected to live, he is also like Mia when it comes to his mother whom he wishes he could see. The hardest part for me was how much he left Mia alone, his job stole him away and luckily he cared for her so much that every minute he had he spent with her. But this also caused secrets and a huge mistake that I’m not sure how I would of reacted to it either. I liked that they were both challenged and had to learn about what they wanted in a relationship. I myself got married young and after a short time but I learned a lot of and feel my love for my husband grew more and more with each challenging step.

Overall I give major kudos to the Christina Lauren duo, they seriously know how to write romance, and humor and a heck of a lot of hot scene that I just cant get enough of. The writing is always top notch, with a quick pace and lots of great character development. The secondary characters of Mia and Ansels close friends were fantastic support; I’m hoping we get to meet them again in the next book. Again this was an excellent start to a new series and I highlight recommend this for romances lovers and anyone who loved the Beautiful Bastard series.

RECOMMENDATION:

This is a new adult romance story with some mature content. Fans of the Sea Breeze series by Abbi Glines and Wait for You by J. Lynn will love, Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren.
