If you play with fire…

Tossed out of college and cut off by her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen’s club, who is she to turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny’s: No touching, keep your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet. Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every single one of them.

Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but he’s got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming.

Because Harrison Yates isn’t who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.

REVIEW:
Desrochers has been a favorite of mine since her young adult series and she really knows how to turn it up a notch in her new adult series A Little Too Far. Book three of the series, this was by far my favorite, I couldn’t get enough of the tension between the two protagonists and the plot line that kept me on my toes until the very end.

Samantha West has hit a low in her life and is in dire need of a place to sleep and a place to work. Luckily her best friend Jonathan hooks her up with a job that at first she was not sure of. Being a dancer at Benny’s isn’t a dream job but it’s something Sam is really good at. After catching the eye of smoking hot Harrison Yates. Sam is unsure how long she can abide by the rules of her job, while Harrison is unsure if he’s doing the right thing in his own job, which eventually puts Sam in the middle of danger.

Sam is a tough as nails type of girl, being able to handle expressing herself in dance take a lot of guts. For me a girl doing what she must to survive and pay the bills, it sometimes takes a path that may not be a dream but reality. I feel that she is the strongest out of the three females in this series, because of the tough situation she is put in, the heartbreak that her best friend put her through and the one man that put her in danger also makes her heart skip a beat. All through out I rooted for this girl to get one piece of happiness and hoped that something would go right. I enjoyed her journey and the relationship between Harrison and her was hot!

Harrison is a man who follows the rules and feels he’s doing the right thing. But when he meets Sam he forgets about his rules and endangers the one woman whom he can resist. There is so much to Harrison that I can’t give away in the review, near the beginning a lot is revealed and I’m glad I didn’t read any reviews that spoiled it. But I can say that I adored him and he was trying to do something right that got turned around on him. He has a good heart and a good reason for doing what he does, his family is very important and wants to get revenge on the person that hurt them.

Overall this had everything I like about New Adult novels, a bit of mystery with a great twist, fantastic character development (especially with Sam), and a romance that series had me fanning myself with their tension and lust. Again this series as a whole is really good and but this one is by far the best. What is also great is that I feel this could be read as a stand along, but it would be good to read the first to see what happened with Sam.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is a New Adult novel that is suited for a mature audience of 18 and over. Fans of Jennifer Echols Such a Rush and Jamie McGuire’s Beautiful Disaster will want to get their hands on Wait for You by J. Lynn.
