BLURB:
Samantha Rousseau is used to getting her hands dirty. Working toward a master’s degree in wildlife biology while helping take care of her sick father, she has no time for celebrity gossip, designer clothes, or lazy vacations. So when a duchess from the small country of Lilaria invites her to dinner, Samantha assumes it’s to discuss a donation for the program. The truth will change the course of her life in ways she never dreamed.

Alex D’Lynsal is trying to keep his name clean. As crown prince of Lilaria, he’s had his share of scandalous headlines, but the latest pictures have sent him packing to America and forced him to swear off women—especially women in the public eye. That is, until he meets Samantha Rousseau. She’s stubborn, feisty, and incredibly sexy. Not to mention heiress to an estate in his country, which makes her everyone’s front-page news.

While Sam tries to navigate the new world of politics and wealth, she will also have to dodge her growing feelings for Alex. Giving in to them means more than just falling in love; it would mean accepting the weight of an entire country on her shoulders.

REVIEW:
Holy Prince Yummy, I adored this book so much! Suddenly Royal is a mix between The Prince and Me and The Princess Diaries with an extra punch of drama and steamy romance. This is one book I’m putting on my “read again” list for this year because I loved it so much.

Suddenly Royal follows Samantha Rousseau who is a grad student mastering in wildlife biology. She is extremely smart and a loyal daughter who takes care of her sick father while fighting off the medical bills. Until her life changes when she is asked to meet with the Duchess of Lilaria who is in town. She discovers that her mother’s side of the family kept a big secret and she no longer will be the normal grad student she once was.

Sam is such a down to earth (real) kind of girl. Someone every reader (I feel) will connect to right away. She loves what she studies and even enjoys teaching a small class of people who enjoy bird talk. It was interesting watching her grasp the idea of her being royalty and what I loved more is she stayed true to herself. No matter the change in her life she was 100% devoted to helping her father. I’m a daddy’s girl, which connected me to the emotional scenes with her dad. With Sam being such a well-put together type of person, she handles the whole royalty situation quite well. And one of my favorite scenes is her driving to an exclusive hotel in an old beat up truck; though she’s embarrassed the valet says her truck is a classic (I would of hugged the guy). In the end the readers will love all the funny moments, especially with Sam’s best friend Jess and Sam’s love interest Alex. The readers will enjoy watching her transition and make big decisions that will definitely change her life.

Alex is pretty much what every girl’s fantasy prince would be like; handsome, charming and a major flirt. At the beginning I wasn’t sure if he had something up his sleeve, but this guy makes you fall for him in an instant. I love every scene with Sam, he knew what buttons to hit and how to make her blush. He is definitely to the most frustrating and complicated thing to be put in her life besides being royalty.

Overall I tip off my hat (well crown) to Chase, she did a wonderful job creating a realistic Cinderella –ish story. I loved the emotionally heartbreaking moments that I did tear up at, meaning Chase knows how to reach the readers with her words. But the best bits were the humor and romance that bring to life a wonderful love story to remember. I look forward to future novels by Chase as well as I hope to re-enter Sam’s world in the future to see how she is.
