{Guest Post + Giveaway} Breaking Bad by Jodi Redford

Today we have author Jodi Reford visiting SNR! I had the pleasure of reading her latest release Breaking Bad. As a comic book fan girl and lover of superheroes her book had my name all over it. I enjoyed the characters, the storyline, the powers and of course the romance! This is an adult novel met for mature readers :)
Stay tuned tomorrow for my 4 out 5 star review of Breaking Bad!

Breaking Bad:
Thank you so much for having me today! I’ll admit that I tend to be just as fascinated by villains as I am with heroes. I’m especially intrigued by characters that skate the thin ice between being good and bad. In my latest release, Breaking Bad, I had a lot of fun exploring the idea of a superhero who hails from a family of super villains.

Ruby tends to be very idealistic in her world view. She finds it morally reprehensible that her family has profited from doing evil deeds, and it becomes her personal quest to right the wrongs of her seedy relatives. On the flip side of this, we have Teague, a hardened and cynical superhero who sees himself as being anything but the good guy—and prefers it that way. As you can imagine, these two clash, big time. But it’s their differences that ultimately help them see that the world isn’t entirely black and white. Just like in the real world, it’s those little gray areas in between that both color and complicate their lives, and lead Ruby and Teague to question who they really are at heart.

How much are we influenced by our environment? Our genes? Nature vs. nurture. Is it possible for someone with inherently evil DNA lurking inside them to break free of the mold? And how you do cope with two opposing qualities coexisting inside you? Good and bad. Yeah, being a superhero just got a hell of a lot more complicated.

No super deed goes unpunished…

Midnight Justice story.

It’s been twenty-five years since the last Light Guardian was wiped out. Or so it’s believed. Ruby Winston is about to blow the lid off that theory, even though it’ll bring every Shadow Czar minion down on her ass.

She’s always known she was different from the rest of the evil-dictators-in-training Winstons. Uncovering the secret half of her gene pool proves it. Now she’s out to bring down her late father’s mind-control soda empire—and break the Shadow Czars’ hold on Earth.

Problem is, becoming a superhero overnight isn’t as easy as it looks.

Teague Younger has his own secrets to keep: his heritage, and his fierce determination to exact revenge on his friend and mentor’s murderer. So far he’s kept his cover—until he’s forced to use his Light Guardian powers to save Ruby from a sticky situation.

Thrust together and on the run, Teague and Ruby form a wary alliance as they desperately fight their circuit-blowing attraction. With an army of Shadow Queen minions hot on their tails, they might have a hard time surviving the night, much less ignoring their hearts.
