REVIEW:
I did a total happy dance when Hannah Jayne contacted me about getting an ARC for her awesome Underworld Detection Agency series.  Under Attack is the second installment following a human named Sophie that is immune to magic. She works for the UDA and gets involved in some supernatural secrets that seem to be connected to her. Hannah Jayne did it again, drawing me into her series full of action; suspense, romance and humor that made me wish it were May already so I can read the third book.

The whole gang is back from the first book Under Wraps, Sophie, her best friend and vampire Nina, the very drool worthy on again off again boyfriend and Angel Alex, plus some great new face. This time around the UDA is undergoing some changes with the loss of the head of the UDA, someone new is taking over and things get a little shakier for Sophie concerning her job. Even though I miss Pete I was excited for the new addition of the head honcho Dixon and look forward to reading more about him.

Sophie goes through a lot more craziness in Under Attack, what excited me most was learning about her past. Who her family is and was, plus getting some insight into why she’s immune to magic, I especially loved all the twist and turns in the family and having some family show up.

Alex is of course back, the Angel who stole Sophie’s heart but seems to keep a nice big distance from her when he can. He needs her help in locating a Vessel that could give him the chance to return to heaven and sadly leave Sophie, which she’s not too excited about. I loved their chemistry and bickering, it made for some humorous moments. There is a new male addition that I’m dying to know more about, but not going to say much more since it would be too much of a spoiler.

Overall this was an action packed and exciting read, I couldn’t get enough and I love an Urban Fantasy with humor. There were many surprises this time around especially with the main villain that was down right awesome and crazy all mixed in one. I can’t wait to read what happens next, I highly recommend this series.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is an adult Urban Fantasy, recommended for fans of author Devon Monk of the Allie Beckstrom series and Jennifer Estep of the Elemental Assassin Series.
