BLURB:
Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris - until she meets Etienne St. Clair: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home.

As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near - misses end with the French kiss Anna - and readers - have long awaited?

REVIEW:
Anna and the French Kiss is what I could call the sweetest novel I have read in a long time. I’m usually a girl who loves her paranormal creatures, fantasy elements, or mystery but this was a novel of friendship, love and family. I absolutely loved this YA fiction to the core, even more so because who wouldn’t want to fall in love in Paris? It’s the city of love!

Anna isn’t given much of a choice her father has decided to send her to Paris for a whole semester. Meaning living her friends, work and possible boyfriend behind and learn how to speak French.  As soon as her parents leave she luckily meets Meredith who welcomes her and understand what she going through when it comes to parents sending their kids away.  Then Anna meets the rest of Meredith’s friends and the ever so English and charming St. Clair. Anna discovers what its like to start over, the meaning of true friendship and true love.

Anna is a type of friend that I think ever girl in her life has met and is friends with. A girl who down to the core is a friend to the end and likes to lounge around, watch movies and just chill. She’d definitely be my friend because she has a devotion to classic films and loves to hang out at the theater. Anna goes through a lot in her new school and he old life changes drastically while she’s away.

Etienne St. Clair from the beginning is a guy everyone has a major crush on, even me as the read just swooned over him. He just as the best friend vibe that makes you want to give him a hug. The attraction between Anna and St. Clair is immediate and both become close friends that are trying not to cross the boundary of being something more. Their relationship is sweet and I really love all their little moments that make your heat beat a little faster.

I really enjoyed this book and it made me miss reading regular fiction books without paranormal elements. There were bits here and there that I felt that main characters made some decisions that weren’t thought out well, but people aren’t perfect and I felt that Perkins really made her characters relatable. I loved the plot and how each character grew up a little in their own way, dealing with life, problems with parents and friends, and just leaning to make the right choices.

Overall I loved this book and I can’t wait to read Stephanie Perkins upcoming book Lola and the boy next door, and some face from Anna and the French Kiss I hear make an appearance.  I highly recommend this book!

RECOMMENDATION:
This is an adult novel that will melt the heart of anyone who reads it. Fans of Jennifer Echols and Meg Cabot will be charmed into this wonderful novel Anna and the French Kiss.

  1. This is one of the most adorable novels I've ever read. I fell for Etienne hard and I love the role Paris plays in the book. Anna and Etienne are probably two of my most beloved characters. I can't wait to read more books by Stephenie Perkins because this one had me since page one.
