In a world with powerful and prejudiced vampires, Brooke must tap into the side of her that she never knew existed at the risk of losing her life in order to save it.

REVIEW:
I was really excited when author Angeline Kace contacted me to review her upcoming book Descended by Blood. Not only did I love her cover but the plot sounded so different than the vampire stories I’ve read in the past. I was definitely right about it being a different vampire story; I was thrilled with all the action, family mysteries, friendship and of course romance. Descended by Blood has a little something for everyone.

Brooke is a young girl whose life has been filled with moving around from town to town. Never really getting to unpack her life and make a place her home. Her mom always feels like the are better opportunities out there and she always takes it, until finally the latest small town she’s stayed longer than any before.  With her best friend and “soul sister” Kaitlynn and her long time crush that might be forming into something more than friendship, Brooke feels she’s finally found her home.  But when a mysterious man, who seems anything but normal with fangs, is stalking her, her life becomes a whirlwind of danger and mystery.

Brooke really wants to have the typical teenage life. I really enjoyed how Kace started off the novel really getting in depth with her friendships and her life. Usually authors just throw you right into the action of the story but I really liked getting t know the lead characters before any of the main plot came into view.

The best part of Descended by Blood that I felt was my favorite was her friendship with Kaitlynn. It was so real and fun, they were hilarious together, and relied on each other when they need someone to talk too. It was just the best friendship I’ve read in a book in a long time.

Now for the romance, the oh so popular love triangle that I usually don’t have a liking for was so much fun in this book. Two guys are introduce, Jaren and Mirko, there is a huge difference in personalities with these guys. But I feel that they both even Brooke out in different ways and I’m excited to learn more about both in future books.

Overall I adored this book, it was well written, always had me on the edge of my seat and I loved each character introduced. The best part was the mystery behind Brooke and whom she is deep down and what mysteries lie in her family. There was never a dull moment and I look forward to the next installment.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is a young adult book with all the goodies of a thrilling paranormal romance. Fans of Heather Hildenbrands Dirty Blood and Kiersten White’s Paranormalcy will love this novel.
